Julian McIntosh Architects were commissioned by luxury lifestyle brand Jo Malone to design and deliver their first ever concept store.
As a brand recognised for its signature cream interiors, Jo Malone sought to embark on a transformative journey towards a more contemporary aesthetic for their stores.
Jo Malone sought out JMA’s specialist services in architecture, interior design and development to deliver this project from conception to construction, working closely with the brand to conceive the architecture, fixtures, and interiors.
We worked in collaboration with the brand's in-house design team and embraced this vision, crafting a captivating and modern theme that breathed new life into the retail space.
This included the redesign of key bespoke fixtures and the surrounding store architecture to infuse a new level of architectural detail reminiscent of a luxury home. JMA’s role was to work between the in-house creative team and the store contractor to develop the detailed design and corresponding construction details for both the architectural and interior design packages.
The concept store has been successfully replicated across a diverse range of physical store locations worldwide. The expansion and new concept design for Joe Malone stemmed from insightful discussions aimed at revitalising and evolving the brand, making it the perfect place for customers to explore the quintessentially English range of signature colognes, candles and home fragrances.
