About
▪ The practice
Julian McIntosh Architects (JMA) is a practice dedicated to transforming places and spaces through thoughtful architecture and interior design. At its core, JMA embraces an explorative and culturally responsive approach to design, working closely with clients to shape spaces that reflect their values, histories, and aspirations. From private homes to cultural institutions and commercial spaces, JMA creates architecture that is both sensitive and bold — attentive to light, layout, and flow, and to the evolving needs of those who inhabit the spaces. Each project is a collaboration: a process of shaping vision and giving form to the unique potential of a place.
JMA is committed to reimagining how architecture and interiors are experienced — from the intimacy of a single room to the complexity of larger environments and buildings. With particular care and attention, the practice has worked on private homes, museums, chapels, and heritage sites, blending the historical with the contemporary through a multidisciplinary lens. The result is design that honours the past while carving out space for new futures. At JMA, we believe the exceptional can emerge from the everyday. Through a deep interpretation of stories and spatial narratives, we elevate environments into vibrant, living spaces — full of renewed light, culture, and flow. Each project is a personal journey: a curated response that gives new life and purpose to the spaces we shape.
