Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and commissioned by Epainos Ministries, JMA were appointed to produce an audit document recording the rich heritage and local significance of the Holy Trinity Bow Church. The objective of this document was to examine and understand the history and community surrounding the Church. This enabled our client to think about how they could preserve the Church’s existing community network and heritage connections during our restoration project.
Published in 2021, a key objective was to identify local heritage trends and community data to understand how these could affect the development and business planning of the church. Moreover, these findings identified the ways in which the changing patterns of use of heritage buildings could be accommodated in dense, vibrant neighbourhoods with stronger, more cohesive communities.
We were able to support the church with business planning to contextualise the research, which included conducting a number of interviews with invited experts who specialise in innovative development practices. Our findings were written up in an essay format report, which identified eight key focus areas to help support the delivery of the future of the church.
