Julian McIntosh Architects were appointed to redesign the layout of a large, suburban, semi-detached house in the suburbs of North London, which was the vibrant home of a family of four.
The clients were busy working parents with two children who desired a contemporary design that would suit their needs and lifestyle. They wanted to improve the ground floor layout, flow, and amount of natural light within the spaces in order to connect the house better with the garden and natural landscape.
Our goal was to create a design that would enhance the family's daily life while also standing out from the surrounding properties. To do this, we carefully considered the family's requirements and worked to create a space that was both beautiful and functional.
On the ground floor, we improved the layout to create an open-plan living area that could accommodate the family's daily activities. On the first floor, the house required a larger family bathroom with an additional ensuite and walk-in wardrobes to the larger bedrooms.
The front and rear facades of the property were also modernized, adding to the contemporary design and increasing the home's exterior appeal. Overall, our design provided the client with functional and adaptable space that reflected their modern lifestyle, serving as a haven for relaxation and quality family-time.
