We were commissioned to design and visualize a premier football facility in Dakar, Senegal—a region experiencing a surge in the popularity of the sport. Our objective was to create a professional-grade academy that balanced international standards for athlete development with a deep respect for local architectural traditions and climate-responsive design.

The proposed single-storey academy was organized around a series of internal courtyards, which served as both social anchors and environmental buffers. The program included a full-size outdoor pitch, multiple five-a-side training areas, a dedicated training gym, and shared social spaces. By integrating local vernacular architecture with modern spatial planning, we ensured the facility remained rooted in its context while providing a high-performance environment for athletes.

Sustainability was at the core of our approach. To enhance energy efficiency in the challenging local climate, we employed passive cooling techniques and prioritized the use of locally sourced materials. These choices not only reduced the facility's environmental footprint but also ensured that the architecture harmonized with the surrounding landscape.

Ultimately, the design provided a vibrant, functional, and safe hub for training and community building. By marrying sustainable principles with a strong sense of place, we created a facility that supported both individual athletic success and broader community engagement in Dakar.
